Save 2006 version as 2004?

Save 2006 version as 2004?
Thu, 21 Feb 2008 11:56:01 -080
One member of our team upgraded to the 2006 version of MapPoint.
There does not appear to be a way to save the file from this version
so that it is compatible with the 2004 versions.

Can someone please confirm this, or explain how we can make them
compatible with the older verison?

Secondly, if it is true that we cannot save the files so they can be
read by the older version, then we will re-install the older version
on their machine. I would like to know, however, if there is any
major advantage to having the 2006 version besides the GPS
functionalities and newer data (which we don't use). We use this
strictly for plotting routes.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

The former - MapPoint 2004 cannot open files created in 2006.

There's a few additions to the object model if you program against it
(e.g. Latitude / Longitude properties on the Location object), but
otherwise, GPS functionality and new data are basically it.

For details, launch MapPoint 2006, press F1, expand the "Getting
Started" node of Online Help, and click the "What's new in
MapPoint"
topic.
