| MapPoint file Compatibility with Streets & Trips |

Our organization has users of both applications in Engineering and Marketing.
However, we have had numerous occasions where work has been done in Streets
&
Trips which needed to be accessed with MapPoint 2006.
MapPoint is supposed to be able to open .est files from S&T but we haven't
had much success doing this. We get a "Map Has a Bad Format" error in
MapPoint.
Is there any activity underway to make these two applications more
interoperable? Is there an update to MapPoint 2006 that will address ST&T

There probably lies your problem - MapPoint can open S&T files (not the
other
way 'round), but only up to versions that are "contemporary" - it is
not able
to open files created by S&T versions that were released after itself. So
MapPoint 2006 cannot open e.g. S&T 2007 files.
MapPoint is usually updated every two years, so there should be a
"MapPoint
2008" already (the releases usually happen in Q3/Q4 the previous year) -
maybe
there is still hope although it is definitely overdue ...
