Mappoint alternatives?

Mappoint alternatives?
Fri, 28 Mar 2008 09:20:31 -040
I'm using MP2006 for a small part of the functionality that my application
provides. It works well enough for the inexpensive price, but the lack of
regular upgrades and map updates has me thinking about alternatives.

Does anyone have a favorite 'fallback' product that they use when MP just
won't cut it? Or when your customer is willing to pay more for something
better? I can imagine providing the hook to MP in my app for the
budget-conscious users, and something a little higher-end for those that
need it.

Any thoughts?

After re-reading my message, I realize I should have added more detail of
exactly what I use MP for:

I only use Mappoint to display a number of contacts (no more than 20-25),
and use the optimize function to put those stops into a logical order. I
then read the arrival time of each stop to be able to assign an arrival time
window.

That's really the only functionality I need in a new product.

thanks,

I had the same requirement a while ago and eventually used one by
www.tatukgis.com . It did what I wanted as I need to cover a country not
supported in MapPoint.
