| NAV CRM Functionality Vs Dynamics CRM |

Hi All,
Anybody could tell me how the NAV CRM functionality ranks up against
Dynamics CRM? I understand it is a scaled down version of it. But I also
undersand the benefits of an integrated system. I would appreciate it if
someone could share their knowledge in terms of functional differences
between the two. BTW, we are a sales and service company. Hence, lots of
customer cotact and communication is involved.
Thank you,

The CRM functionality within NAV is not a scaled down version of Dynamics
CRM, they are two completely different products. The CRM functional area of
NAV is part of the NAV ERP system, and Dynamics CRM is its own system. There
are 3rd party products that you can purchase that integrate the two.
I could give you my opinion of the differences or what you should select,
but you should probably just get a qualified NAV partner show you NAV and a
qualified CRM partner show you CRM.

By the way, if you were told that NAV CRM is a scaled down version of CRM by
a NAV partner or a CRM partner, then you should be looking for a different
partner to show you the two products, because they clearly have no clue what
they are talking about. It might be the particular salesperson, but I
seriously doubt anyone's competency that makes this claim, and you deserve
better information.

I think what the "first beginning point" of the functionality of the
MS CRM
for developers was the NAV CRM. The main "Concept" and
"functionality bugs"
of beginning version of the MS CRM was the NAV functionality.
But now it is separate product with own functionality.

No that is simply not true. They are two completely different products. The
CRM area in NAV was created because NAV users wanted to have CRM
functionality. At that point in time, NAV was not owned by Microsoft, it was
a Danish company that was unrelated to Microsoft that developed this
functionality. Microsoft either developed CRM themselves or purchased the
company that developed the first version.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics CRM are two completely
different products.
