| WSUS Clients Not Reporting / GPO Question |

We have a WSUS installation that we only want to use for auditing puposes in
combination with MBSA.
I have set group policy so that the clients talk to an internal WSUS server,
but have also set the Configure Automatic Updates to Disabled in the GPO.
The clients are not reporting into the WSUS application. Does the Configure
Automatic Updates need to be on for them to report to the WSUS server?
Remember I do not want to patch with WSUS, I only want to use it for
auditing.

Yes. Configure Automatic Updates must be enabled. Otherwise the client
understand that there's no need to report anything to the update server.
You can choose the option on these GPO to "Not Configured", meaning
that
each client will decide what to do with the new updates available or just
"Notify for download and notify for install", that will not download
neither
install any updates on the clients. Both of the options will leave the
report on the server that will help you on the audit.
Hope it helps
Cheers!
