WSUS 3.0 Help!
Mon, 3 Mar 2008 11:21:00 -0800
I cannot seem to find an answer to this issue. I am running WSUS 3 on a
Windows 2003 server. I have it setup to download Office updates, (along with
other updates) but when I go to search for the Office 2003 Service Pack 3
update, it is marked as Install, when I click the install hyper link for the
update properties, it says:

The files for this update have not yet been downloaded. The update can be
approved but will not available to computers until the download is complete.

Why is this update not downloading? The synchronization is running
successfully every night and there is more than enough disk space on the
server. There are other updates that seem to be doing this also. Any thoughts?

BTW, this is a stand alone WSUS server that pulls it's updates from MS.

Hi,

You mentioned that there are more than one update that is doing this. Now I
ran into this issue with SUS 1.0 and also WSUS when it first came out.

For me it had to do with the permissions on the Updates Drive. I would go to
the WSUS folder on server and go to permissions tab and make sure that
NETWORK SERVICE and SYSTEM both have Full Control and then reset to include
all subfolders. Also check the event viewer for any errors.

Cheers,
Lara
