With our computer 10+ years ago, a disc called "Works & Money 97"
came with
it. I use this program for home finances and have bought a new computer. I

Hi - this isn't actually a good group for your question - it's for MS
Windows Software Update Services. If you're looking for MS Money support try
microsoft.public.money. But I suspect you'll need to buy the latest version
(don't know what it's called) and then upgrade your data - I'd find it odd
if you had to load an "intermediate" version first.
You might find the newsgroup you need much easier to find if you try using
a news client, such as Forte Agent, Thunderbird, or even Outlook Express,
rather than the pretty clunky web interface to the newsgroups. It's a lot
easier to do nearly everything that way. You can mark messages to be
watched, filter the views so you can see replies to your posts easily, and
search.
The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.
