WSUS 3.0 SP1 Failures

I have installed a new WSUS 3.0 SP1 updating server in a clients network. We 
are getting errors and timeouts with the MMC. Here is the configurations:
- Computers: 2100 workstations in various locations running Windows XP SP2
- Computer Groups: 45
- (1) Update server running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2.
- The event log is recording a Warning:
 -Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0
 -Category: Web Event
 -Event ID: 1309

There is a process also running in the Task Manager that is running the 
Processor to 100% utilization called: w3wp.exe.
Has anyone run into this issue? This client is getting desperate to get it 
fixed and I do not have a good explanation as to why this is happenning.

That's the IIS - try "IISRESET" from comand promt on the WSUS Server.
