| HMC 4.0 with Exchange 2007 - domain name change |
 |

Hello all,
is it possible to change the AD domain name after the HMC 4.0 installation or
does it affect the HMC?
My idea is:
- Remove all Server from Domain
- demote the DC
- Change the Domain name and dcpromo
- add all Server to the new Domain
Is this also possible with the domain / server in a HMC environment or should we
install the HMC once again with the new AD Domain name?
Thanks.
Best regards
Robert

It is a BAD idea.
Nothing will work after that and you will be forced to re-install everything
from scratch. So, just start from ground, do not loose your time ;-)

AFAIK, Exchange 2007 doesn't support domain rename operation.

Hi DmitriG,
I was facing the sample problem, do you have any suggestion for that. My plan is
to
1) Modify the AD attributes, maybe using ADSI edit.
2) Update the PlanManager database; change the commonname field of customer
table.
