| MDaemon Edge to replace Exchange 2007 Edge |

Hi -
Has anyone ever used MDaemon instead of Exchange 2007 to act as the EDGE on a
HMC 4.0 platform?
Any advise? Issues with MPS or MOM? Issues with the rest of HMC 4.0?
Thanks :)

I have never used MDaemon, but technically it should not matter. The accepted
domains are controlled by the hub transport and HMC doesn't function past the
hub transport level anyway. So if you can get SMTP to pass to the hub, you
should be good as far as HMC is concerned. MOM operates independently of MPS as
well. Not sure if MOM supports non-domain computers, but SCOM does, so
depending on whether it is joined to the domain, and you are running the
software version of MDaemon on win2k3 you could monitor that server. Check with
MDaemon to see if they have a management pack for SCOM or MOM for specific
application monitoring.
