Hey Jim, sorry to hear that you're having problems. I've seen this issue
several times before but haven't been unable to find out what games are
causing this problem. If you can tell me what the games are (and where to
get them) perhaps we can figure out what's going wrong. I assume that you've
also tried to uninstall the games?

Hiya all,
Have still been having problems with my speech.
Am running XP home and speech API 3.0 which confuses me alot.
Is there a link I can download directly the speech engine for speech
recognition for XP Home?
As with my office 2003 package Ive uninstalled it and installed it again and
still have problems with the below message
Hello all,
Am running windows XP SP2 and installed speech from my Office 2002 and have
had no problems with it till recently when I've installed these trivial
games that require sapi 5, now when I click on the speech icon in control
panel it now pops up a dialog box and reads as follows:
:The requested task cannot be carried out because the necessary engine
could not be created, Please select a different engine or audio device.:
Can anyone help me how I can fix this? I've tried reinstalling the speech
again as well as checking microphone/speakers all working well just won't
let me even create a new profile as when I click on that same dialog message
pop-up
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers,
Jim

Yeah I've tried and uninstall the game but doesn't fix the issue.
The link to the game is below
http://www.kitchensinc.net/
then click
click here for free windows sapi5 text to speech games
then you need to download the main game engine
winkit.zip 2.4m bytes May 2003
Once this is installed it then stuffed up my speech and caused the issue in
my initial email.
Hope this info helps you to help me with the annoying problem
Thank you,
Jim

mmm viewed this fix before and my user Lexicon folder files aren't on zero
bytes and am reluctant to install this hot fix, hopefully with the links Ive
provided of the game that caused this issue will be worked out soon, unless
you feel installing this hot fix would not hurt
Cheers,
Jim
