I would like to get some voices to work with textalond but they seem to
elude me. Is there a site that I can get a real sounding voice?

You'll find links to TTS vendors here:
http://www.microsoft.com/speech/evaluation/thirdparty/engines.mspx
http://www.cereproc.com/voices.html
http://www.nextup.com/

I have textaloud but it uses sam which is trash. I would like to get a voice
that sound more human. if you have a free link to some free voices that
would help. I also would like to know if I can install aspi 5.3 on windows
XP.

And I'd like a Ferrari at the price of a Honda. ;-)
Seriously, the operating system bundles free voices which are perfectly
understandable but machine-like. The free voice that comes with Vista (Anna)
is better than those in XP. IMO, the commercial voices are better still.
When I looked I could find no natural sounding free voice.

Last I checked, it was only available on Vista. What do you need there?
