| Windows 2003 server with SQL 7 |

Wishing all you faithful XAL die hards out there a Happy New Year :)
I would like some advice on the following:
Customer running SQL 7 and XAL 2.8
They want to upgrade their server to Windows 2003
The customer does not have any valid maintenance so I guess they wont be
able to get a different kernel
What version of SQL should/can I use?
Can SQL 7 run on Windows 2003?
If not I think it is possible to run SQL 2000 in version 7 mode or something
like that right? Would this work? Does SQL2005 have such backward feature?
Any advice or suggestions are very welcome
Thanks
James
