Since an anti-spyware program deleted a prog called ares - apparently a
security threat - each time I turn on I have the error message "The file
sporder.dll cannot be located" and i cannot access the internet and my
anti-virus program will not work. I have to restore to before the spyware
prog was found just to access the internet. This only works until i turn off
then I have to repeat restore every time I turn on. I have followed microsoft
advice on rebuilding winsock LSP chain to no avail. Has anybody any other

I had similar problems after following advice from my spyware/malware
dectector to delete something including SPORDER.DLL This seems common advice.
But I lost connection to ADSL Internet and Dial-up would connect but not
find any websites.
I found some advice to search harddisk for another copy of sporder.dll and
copy it to Windows/system32 ( for XP SP2) and it worked after a reboot . A
lfaster solution than the Microsoft knowledgebase article. Searched for a
later version from one of the DLL sites and installed this later.
Hope this helps.
