I've noticed it too. At first, I thought it was because of
my computer crapping out on me. But I've been having
strange problems blocking ads.doubleclick and that google
syndication crap. I think people have taken an extra long

The Mozilla Bully doesn't have that power. He doesn't own
them or controls them. AOL owns them and Jay manages them.

I've been noticing the last several day it was taking
secnews.netscape.com a lot longer to resolve and show the one group to
which I am subscribed Test.multimedia.

looks like ChrisI or someone has finally got it shut down. I deleted all
references to secnews.netscape.com in news folder and now it just sits
looking for server . Bye Bye old friend. To have so much hatred for
certain ideas as to get a group shut down. ?-(

cert expired maybe?

~$ openssl s_client -showcerts -connect secnews.netscape.com:563
CONNECTED(00000003)

That would normally be followed by a block of gobbledygook. Like that
technical phrase? ;-)

Chris cannot in any way shut down secnews or even have it shut down.

I emailed the person at AOL who can actually touch the server, no reply yet.

And ... Please leave ChrisI out of this nonsense about shutting down
things at Netscape ..

No, the server would still be active and a cert expired message would
popup. The server doesn't ping, so it's down, dunno why.
