Firefox 2.0.0.4 + Flash plugin 9.0 r115 for Linux

I am experiencing an undesirable issue with the Flash 9.0 r115 Firefox
plugin for Linux. If I do not mount the procfs (i.e. /proc) then the
plugin segfaults and causes Firefox to exit. This obviously occurs if
I navigate to a web page with flash content. By simply mounting the
procfs all problems go away. My only issue is I don't want my procfs
mounted, for reasons that are out of scope for this group. Does
anyone have any ideas on why the procfs is required for the Flash

I don't know the answer but I do know that an update to Adobe Flash
player will be released sometime in April; maybe that update will
solve your issue and you can live with the problem until then.
