| How Do I Disable Apple Updater? |

I want to disable the Apple Updater but can't figure out how. I
looked at the startup programs using msconfig but don't see anything
obvious. I don't like to disable anything unless I'm sure I know what
it is and sure I don't need it.
The updater pops up for iTunes, Safari and QuikTime. The only thing I
need to update is QuickTime and I can do that on my own.
So - where is this sucker and how do I stop it?

While this is really way off topic for any news.mozilla.org newsgroup, I
too would like to know how to do this.

Go to Mozdev at <http://www.mozdev.org/> for quick access to
extensions for Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and other
Mozilla-related applications. You can access Mozdev much

On Windows XP you can uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs. Same for
"Rhapsody Player Engine" in RealPlayer 11 prior to the latest update.

The date and time was 4/2/2008 6:26 AM, and on a whim, Jane pounded out
on the keyboard:

Hi Jane,
While Allan stated you can uninstall the Updater using Add/Remove
Programs, the icon for the "Apple Software Update" should be in the
All
Programs folder. Open it, click Cancel when it tries to connect, click
Edit, Preferences, Schedule tab, select NEVER.
