I agree with that, but I think that the calendar project would greatly
benefit if this happens.  Some of the problems with Lightning and
Outlook are email problems rather than calendar problems (e.g. the bug
about MIME-type issues).  IMO it would be really nice if the calendar
team had access to a developer on the Thunderbird team who works with
such email issues in Thunderbird every day.

p.s. Since I'm posting, I'd like to thank the calendar team for the
release of 0.8.  Each of the improvements that you made is appreciated
