| Thunderbird shows that there are unread messages (but there aren't) |
 |

Hello all,
My Thunderbird (software, not car) crashed this morning and since then
it shows that I have 4 unread messages even though there are no unread
messages displayed in the list of mail. I have also done a "select
all" and then "mark as read", and I have compacted the inbox.
Still,
it says 4 unread messages.
Any help much appreciated!

Have you set your view to 'All' ( View > Messages > All )?
Right click on that problematic folder and in property , click on
'Rebuild Index' . Does your problem go away ?
Also delete a file named 'panacea.dat' from your profile when

This is a known bug, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79130
One of its duplicates has a workaround,
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294754#c3
Note that the actual filename of the rc file mentioned in that
workaround differs slightly depending on whether you're using
Thunderbird on Windows, Linux, Mac, ...
Best regards,
Tony.
