Hi all,
Just doing a website for a friend of mine. She has a small business but lots
(hundreds) of products in different categories. I want to keep the store
pages to a sensible size so I though I would have quite a few links for the
different catergories on the home page which will open a different store.
All stores would have the same settings. I will be using Mals-e and paypal.
Is this a sensible solution. i.e. if someone is buying items from different
store pages would they all link to one 'open' trolley in Mals-e so that at
checkout time there is just one transaction?
All advice and other suggestions welcome!

Look at Cubecart.

Thanks Nancy but not being into PHP, MySQL, etc it could be a bit beyond
either me or, more importantly, my friend who will be managing controlling
the site once it is up and running. It also doen't require a database type
of store.
Can this be sucessfully done just in NOF?

Never tried it but if you add something to the MAls cart and then exit from
the site, it clears the cart out. If you add to the cart and then go to a
different page (no shopping) and then return to the shopping page it
remembers the value of the cart when you add an extra item, from that I
would suspect it should work. Guess you've just got to try

Well Nancy, I don't know why I didn't just take your advice. Instead I
pondered and sifted through loads of different options and then came back
to.... Cubecart!
I had the guys at Cubecart install it on the server for me (a mere $29 or
£15!) and after a few very small niggles it was operational. It's been easy
to set up and the guys at Cubcart have responded to e-mailed help requests
almost immediately.
Thanks Nancy and I'd also recommend this package to anyone looking for a
mutl-category store solution.
