I'm experiencing a problem with NOD-generated CSS failing to validate. I'm using
NOD 9.1 (9.10.0000.5035) which is, I believe, the last build of version 9.
In response to an earlier post (Which page layout? posted last Monday) Charles
suggested that this might be caused by a corruption in the .NOD file - but this
seems not to be the case, unless NOF is causing the corruption istelf. I ran 2
tests to check this:
Test1
=====
I created a new default site and saved it, making no changes, which I've
published at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/bravo/_test1/index.html (dynamic layout,
comatibility set for MSIE4 and above).
When this is validated it generates one SCC validation error "Value Error :
cursor hand is not a cursor value : hand", which is one of the 2 types of
error I was getting before.
Test2
=====
I added a table to the default set, changed the layout region to 'fixed page
layout' (but keeping the page as dynamic page layout), and published the result
at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/bravo/_test1/index.html.
When this is validated it generates 30 extra CSS errors of the type "only 0
can be a length. You must put an unit after your number", the other error I
experienced before.
Is anyone else able to reprduce these errors - or is it just my installation, or
just build 9.10.0000.5035? Even better, is there a known solution?

Fusion 9.1 generates w3c vaild HTML. The CSS is partially implemented and
therefore partially compliant.
Fusion 10 improves on this, but still isn't 100% on the CSS side of things.
Why, pray tell, is this a major concern for you? Pages render correctly in
browsers and the CSS non-compliance is minor. Mostly deprecations, not
full-blown errors.

OK, it's clear it's not me. I've just tried to validate a number of sites posted
in netobjects.new-sites. Every one that I've tested fail CSS validation with
errors similar to my test sites. Has this not been noticed before?
Unlesss anyone has a fix I can only conclude that NOF is unable to generate
compliant CSS code. Please tell me I'm wrong, and that there is a fix...
What is also interesting is that a couple of these *don't* generate the “cursor
hand” errors. I wonder why?
Sites tested:
=============
http://www.sunnybankchurch.org.uk/ - NOF 9 - fails CSS validation with 3 “Value
Error : cursor hand is not a cursor value : hand” errors
http://www.holytrinity-madeira.com/ - NOF9 - fails with several “cursor hand”
errors, + others
http://www.humeridgechurch.org/ - NOF10 - fails with 8 “You must put an unit
after your number” errors
http://aloha.bien-etre.com/ - NOF v? - fails with 129 errors of types “unit
after your number” and “cursor hand”
http://www.mensgroups.org.nz/ - NOF v? - fails with 180 errors of types “unit
after your number” and “cursor hand”
http://www.centpourcent-reception.com/ - NOF v? - 26 CSS validation errors of
the above types
http://users.isp.com/gentle_bear/ - NOF10 - 28 CSS validation errors of the
above types
http://www.colonialcandlecrafters.com/ - NOF v? - 8 validation errors of type
“cursor hand” & others
http://www.clodaghrodgers.co.uk/ - NOF9 - 35 validation errors of type “unit
after your number” (and “cursor hand” on other pages)
http://www.pagesnip.com/ - NOF10 - fails with 16 errors of types “unit after
your number” and “cursor hand”

You may be right.
As I posted in reply to Bravo's post in the NOF9 group, I looked at it. On
PageSnip.com I see the same errors for CSS validation.
Adding the Units where needed is easy, changing the cursor:hand to
cursor:pointer would fix the other issue.
The cursor:hand is IE specific and should not be used.
This is a 30 minute fix if WSP just takes the time to do it.

Charles,
I'm pretty sure the cursor:hand issue was brought up long ago.... like
Fusion 8 maybe.
Would have to dig back into the archives.
Yes... should be a simple change.
Back in the early days, Fusion was extremely IE-centric. Still some of that
lingering around it seems.
