validation errors - query wrong character set - help please!
Mon, 17 Mar 2008 21:58:41 -000
getting these scripting errors and validation errors - could I have the
wrong character set? Not sure what I should have - I remember getting funny
symbols before and changed it to one of the Western European character sets
but maybe it should be Unicode. Attaching two pics to show what I've now
selected.
I'd be very grateful if anyone can help - I've no idea which one is the
right one to choose I've opted for unicode - could it be the reason for the
text being huge - just going to site to change H1's etc.
Sure someone will know this straight away!

What are you using to send the bulk emails?? I've done this several times
and IMHO the best way is to publish as a flat file in NOF and include the
graphics (maybe) in the email so the reader can still see them even when
they re read their mail offline??

Thanks for your help Ian. See other post re newsletter. Have to leave until
I can get hold of Serif. My newsletter is on the server but can't access it.

Still struggling with html validation errors though. Character encoding not
found - changed again from UTF-8 as getting symbols next to £ signs on some
pages, not all - don't know why on some and not others - thought the
character encoding changed throughout the site when changed. Since changing
from UTF-8 now getting 12 html validation errors instead of 1!!! I've looked
at other sites and one used UTF-8 and one European 1152 so tried that - now
going to try ISO 8859-1 now - probably try them all until the errors stop -
remember checking before and was error free but can't remember what char.
set I was using then!!

Any ideas, anybody? Really need to read up on html and scripting - but got
so much to do on the site - don't know what to do first.
