When I use a password protected page I understand the information for users
will be stored in a database. What type of database is it and can I control
which type it is stored in? I would prefer using Microsoft Access or a
Microsoft database but am considering other ways.

Yes, but what I would like to do is to store it in a MySQL or Access
database. Possibly even a web database that my provider offers. Sounds
like I need to do some serious polishing of my database skills.
