This is an odd question to ask!
I am doing some reporting for work on trends of the Novell
certifications over the years for our Human Resources department.
Is there a way I can found out how many current CNE/CNA people there
were back in 2001, and how it was in 2005 for statistics?

Sorry, no - we don't publish certification numbers.

Don't forget to add the NCE, CLP, and CLE certs from Novell in your
list.

Wouldn't the more useful numbers be the number of your staff who have
certification and whether or not your company (or customers) use Novell
products therefore realizing a benefit for such certifications? I would
imagine global certifications follow sales so if sales of Netware go down
I would expect Netware certifications to go down and if sales of Open
Enterprise Server and Linux go up I would expect NCE and
Linux certifications to go up. Sales in dollars are publicly available in
the quarterly reports athough sales in units is probably a better number
