Technical Skills Assessment 3082?

Howdy,

i was thinking about getting novell's 6.5 CNE certification via the
CNE6.0 track, and then taking the single 6.5 upgrade exam. But then i
noticed that Novell offered an alternative path towards earning it:
'Novell Open Enterprise Server for NetWare CNE'
(http://www.novell.com/training/certinfo/cne/cneoes.html)

Instead of requiring 5 exams (from CNE 6.0), you now only need 4 exams
(they dropped the Zenworks).
However, i noticed a new entry: 'Technical Skills Assessment 3082'...

what the heck is a Technical Skills Assement?

is it a test? A book? Something you take Online? or maybe some kind of
class?
How much does something like this cost? (i hoping its not some $2000
required seminar)

If anyone had any insight, it would be greatly appreciated!

The skills assessment is an online "exam" that is not proctored.  It's

just a way of assessing your skills for the 3082.  It's offered at no 
cost, and is an optional method to check your understanding of the 
material in 3082.

Okay, one last Q:
Is there any preparation material i can purchase for exam 050-707
(Advanced Administration)?  I see that Novell has a selfstudy kit for
$495....

Are there no other alternative sources?

I'm not aware offhand of anything yet available - but the CNE-OES is 
based on NetWare 6.5, so any material on the earlier versions of the 
class should give a pretty good basis.  I wouldn't call it a substitute 
(I don't know how many of the testing objectives changed between this and 
the old advanced admin course - so you'll want to compare).
