Asset & Maintenance Tracking

Asset & Maintenance Tracking
Thu, 08 Nov 2007 05:31:03 GMT
I am hoping someone out there is doing this already so I don't have to do
a lot of work designing an Access Database. What I am looking for is a
program or database that will allow me to place all of the IT equipment in
and associate it to a user and track not only the asset but what
maintenance has been done to it. We are currently a one-to-one Laptop
program school and I am having issues tracking the warrenty and
maintenance on our laptops and printers.

Anyone know what is out there that I can use for this. Preferably low cost
or no cost. Anyone have suggestions on how best to handle this. Right now
following what has been done to the laptop is driving me crazy. No one
really knows what has happened to it including the vendor (without a lot
of work)

Thanks

Rich

What springs to mind is ZENWorks Asset Management, which can keep track of
a device for you. Though it's mostly intended for inventory I'm thinking
it might be possible to use for your needs as well.

You might wanna check with the folks in the Zenworks forums.

The best program on the market that is also low cost is found at
www.ayanova.com . Very flexible, easy to use, and very affordable
