We am a tech in a school.
We are using a product by Smart Technology called SynchronEyes.
Windows XP SP 2
Novell Client 491.sp3
The issue is:
SynchronEyes aquires the name of the student logged in to the workstation.
Which we set static without a password.
students just press enter at the workstation login.
We want SynchronEyes to display the name of the novell login with the
computer host name on the teacher station.
We can get the computer host name but not the Novell login.
We used a login script nameset.bat which does set the name of the student
on the student machine, but does not display it on the teacher station.
The teacher station displays the windows login.
Smart Technologies Support provided us with the .bat and .ini file another
school was using. but they don't support what we are attempting to do.
Thanks
Joe

Joe Maugeri,
I'm not familiar with SynchronEyes, so I'm not sure in what format you
need the username. However I was thinking if it just wouldn't be
sufficient if you in the Novell Login Script set the Novell _Username to
a local environment variable or just write it down to a file?
Even better would be to use the feature Dynamic Local User in Novell
ZENWorks. That way you can have ZENWorks create the local Windows user
account for you if you have successfully authenticated to eDirectory in
the Novell Client. Dynamic Local User will then create a locla account in
Windows using the same credentials as were used in the Novell Login.
In the Dynamic Local User policy you define if user accounts should be
member of the locla Windows Users, Power Users or Administrators group.
You can even have Dynamic Local User automatically remove the local user
account removed whe logging out.
Using this your users will have the same anme in Windows as they do in
Novell.
