The thread id returned from getthreadid() is 4 bytes in size. This is on
a 32-bit server with 1GB of RAM. Under what circumstances if any, would
the thread id be larger than 4 four bytes. Does it depend on how much
available RAM there is or if it is a 64-bit server?
Thanks,
-Carey

Its a 32-bit value.

Carey,
It would never be larger than 4 bytes. There is no available RAM dependancy.
NetWare does not run on any 64-bit platforms (well it might run on x86 64,
but it would be in 32 bit mode, and on XEN it will run in a 64 bit linux
environment but it would also be in 32 bit mode).
