This piece was made to commemorate the 2007 Manitoba Coin Club Spring Show
that was held at the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg. It was the second of a
two piece set including the bimetal $8 and a silver $12 piece with the same
reverse design
The reverse design depicts a Robin (Turdus Migratorius) preparing to lunge
at it's wiley adversary, the common earth worm in the age old struggle
between predator and prey. This design has the double representation of a
welcomed sign of spring's arrival, plus the personification of eager coin
collectors at a coin show.
The obverse design is the standard used on the bimetallic issues with the
text
"Four Corners Coin and Currency" at the rim with the image of Atlas
standing
holding the globe.
Altho no denomination is declared on the piece, the bimetal token is
redeemable for $8 at
my shop or by me at any coin show I attend at any time.
