Just a nickel

Just a nickel
Mon, 31 Mar 2008 19:37:36 -070
I was not able to post a coin last week so I am just seeing if it might
have been because it was too big a file. If you know if there is a limit
to the file size please let me know.

I don't know if there is a limit or not, but James (Mr. Jaggers) often posts
images of
more than 3 MB which my ISP handles with no problems (I still have one in my ISP

archive of 3420KB from last Oct). I agree with Mike, though, many readers of
this ng
don't have broadband and suffer greatly when trying to download anything larger
than
500KB.

Hey, it's no problem for me.....I use a cable modem broadband connection. :-)
Those
readers who don't have broadband should be able to see how large the attachment
is
before selecting that post for downloading. Some may have to bypass posts with
large
attachments. Too bad, too, because you post some beautifully detailed images.

I seldom see pictures larger than 750K, so yours is not too large. Posting
limits may be imposed by your ISP server. This one is fine. As a courtesy
to readers image sizes should generally be <500K. I often see poor images
posted here that are very large in size. How big was the one you wanted to
post?
