Where does Novell Edition stand with regards to BASE compatibility with
M$ Access 2003?
This is the number one reason I have been denied migration to SLED 10
on all desktops within our company. I suppose even if we used Wine,
Win4Lin or Crossover office just for Access I could satisfy my
opponents. Unfortunately none support Access 2003 let alone 2007.
We have several very large databases in 2003 format. five of which are
auto created nightly via Informix scripts and take an hour or so to
process and create.
We cannot simply change over to native OoBase as 75% of our databases
are all queries and reports which do NOT export from Access to Base.
Please, developers, know that if we can open BASE to work with Access
to the degree that all tables, queries and reports import completely
then we can move into business with the ability to say SLED 10 is the
most compatible office product for the current MS office user!
I know it is very important for many businesses to have Access
compatibility. I can hardly wait to hear it is ready!
Regards,
Brian
