| File Open and File Save do not work |

Hello, I've just installed the Windows version of OpenOffice 2.1 build
2007-06-04, upgrading from a previous version though I'm not certain what
build I had before upgrading.
Now when I select File Open or File Save or File Save As nothing happens,
the dialog box for opening or saving files never appears so I can only
open files by double clicking their icons in Windows Explorer and I can't
save any documents I've created or modified. Does anyone know how to
remedy this? Thanks.

Did you reinstall the application and the problem persisted? (make sure
you download again the OpenOffice install because the one you used
might be corrupted)

I uninstalled it, then deleted the openoffice folder it left behind in the
program files directory and searched the registry for anything having to
do with openoffice and deleted them, then downloaded again and reinstalled.
Still nothing happens when selecting File Open, File Save or File Save As.
