OO 2.04 won't start

OO 2.04 won't start
Sun, 03 Jun 2007 18:39:29 -040
Hello All,

I just installed OpenOffice 2.04 along with uclip 2.2 and libc062.dll on an
eCS 2.0b4 system. It seemed to go smoothly.
However, I cannot start any OO application. When I try, I get a message:

'Either another instance of OpenOffice.org is accessing your personal settings
or your personal settings are locked.
Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings.
Before continuing, you should make sure user
"closes OpenOffice.org on host". Do you really want to continue?'

Whether I hit yes or no... no program starts. WTF?

I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 times.... always the same result. I have
cleaned .ini files multiple times... deleted all
found directories with either open or office in the name... scoured the
registry... no change.

I was able to use OpenOffice 1.5.... what am I doing wrong?

Did you uninstall any prior 2.0 betas you may have installed?

See the OO 2.0.4 Install Requires: USER=???? thread.

--------------------------------------------------
A CMD overwriting the CONFIG.SYS variables:

rem OOOrg2atke.cmd
@echo off
SET USER=atke
SET HOME=I:\home\atke
I:
CD \
CD os2bin\buro\OpenOffice.org.2.0\program
start SWRITER %1 %2 %3 %4
exit

Open Office will check if SET HOME=I:\home\atke\OpenOffice.org2 exists
and if not it will perform an small (post)installation for user atke.
Including the internet registration procedure.

Fi atke's personal wordbook will be made in:

I:\home\atke\OpenOffice.org2\user\wordbook\standard.dic

So the default installation of OORg2 is the multi-user installation
(/setup -net under Linux).
--------------------------------------------

Please check OpenOffice.org2 dir in your users SET HOME directory.

If there are no docs in it, you could delete them and restart OOOrg again.

Dale,

I did not install any betas, only OO 1.1.5 (which I did uninstall).

Hi Sjoerd,

Thanks for the idea... unfortunately it did not work. I have found what the
problem is though. My
startup folder contains various things, including InJoy dialer (ver 3.00). Injoy
runs in the background
waiting for an internet packet, and dials the phone when neccessary. Somehow it
is blocking Open
Office from running.

If I try to start any OpenOffice app with InJoy running (started from the
startup folder) the OO icon
cross hatches, then... nothing happens. As soon as I close InJoy, whatever OO
program I had tried
to start while it was running comes up! This only happens if InJoy is started
from the startup folder. If I
manually start it after booting, there is no problem. Wish I knew why....

  Any ideas?
