Is there any way to get the "old" (pre-9.5) addressbar back or tell it
to
NOT show page titles and dates?
With 9.5, it changed from showing matching URIs as you type, to showing
the first part of a matching URI, the first part of a matching page title,
and the first part of the last visited date. This makes it essentially
useless, if the window width is below some arbitrary size. Where before I
could distinguish and select from visited URIs, e.g.
http://www.example.com/page1.html
http://www.example.com/page2.html
http://www.example.com/page3.html
Now, everything can look exactly the same, especially if there are no page
titles:
http://www.example.com/pag... http://www.example.com/pag... Today ...
http://www.example.com/pag... http://www.example.com/pag... Today ...

I am using "Opera/9.25 (X11; FreeBSD 6 i386; U; en)". I do not see
a date (thankfully), but do see URLs & titles (URL in lieu of a
title for a page missing actual title).
So far I have not been bothered /often/ by the presence of title,
but would be good if there were a way to turn off presence of the
title.
Do wish Opera to gain the sense of not showing an URL as a title in
the address bar.

I wonder if that is why Opera started to store tens of megabytes of data in
a vps directory under profile? I now routinely delete the vps directory in
order to prevent long (multi-second) pauses when I type in URI's.
