That's not a solution, it is a workaround :)

it would be nice, this is beta testing after all, if you could if you  
could achieve the same effect by using the opera:config setting I  
mentioned. That's much easier for Opera-on-USB usage after all. Using the  
latest snapshots of course, see the desktopteam blog. We are quite aware  
that in 9.5 beta 1 the VPS prefs didn't work correctly and the address bar  
search took too much time... That should be solved now.
