| Getting special characters to display properly at blog |

Working on my blog with Opera. If I use special characters like curly
quotes or em dashes, Opera turns them into weird code, both in the blog
editing window and online. This does not happen with Internet Explorer.
How can I change Opera so that I can use curly quotes and have them display
normally on all browsers looking at my site?
The blog uses Movable Type.

This is because Internet Explorer has "legacy support" for illegal
character codes (between 0128 and 159) which no standards-compliant
browser will display. It looks as though the MT editor isn't smart enough
to turn them into the correct codes.
use either numeric or character entities:
