Shockwave Flash in 2 places

Shockwave Flash in 2 places

In Opera, going to Tools/Advanced/Plugins, I see that
there are two sections for Shockwave Flash. One is in
C:\program Files\Opera\ProgramsPlugins, and the other
is in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. Should
one of these be removed?

My question is really about Shockwave. When I run the
following web page with Internet Explorer:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ , both
Shockwave and Flash run. When I try the web page in
Opera, only Flash runs. When I try to download and
install Shockwave in Opera, the process just doesn't
happen. I'm wondering if the Shockwave installer won't
    run on Opera.

One is enough, but it doesn't do harm to have two paths. This should 'just
work', but you might want to make sure that either both are the newest
version, or that at least the newest version is the one actually used. You
can test that here:

I've no problem to start the Shockwave installer, but it puts its files in
my Firefox 3 beta plugins directory... As Opera has included Firefox's
plugin path in its own plugin paths, that works out OK, but I'd prefer the
Shockwave Director installer to be smarter.

I don't have Firefox installed. But when I identify Opera as either
Opera or Firefox, the Shockwave (slim) installer downloads, but
after it runs and the message box says that Shockwave was installed,
the Shockwave test box at www.Adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
doesn't run, and putting the cursor in the box gets the message that
Shockwave's files aren't installed. That's with clicking the "Get
Adobe Shockwave Player" button on the Downloads Home page.
Interestingly, the tiny "Get Shockwave Player" link just below
the
"Get Adobe Flash Player" button on the Adobe Home page doesn't
do anything unless Opera identifies itself as Internet Explorer. It's
as if Adobe is phasing out Shockwave for browsers other than IE.
