WinXP Pro sp2.
Last week, Firefox crashed on me hard enough to cause a BSOD, and I
lost my personal profile, so I'm trying out Opera as a possible
replacement. I installed Opera 9.21. However...
Compared to Firefox, I'm running into things that just don't seem to
work right, if at all. In no particular order:
* Block Content is nowhere near as robust as the Adblock+ extension.
AB+ seems to work with wild cards better. Forex 1, if in BC I select
an image that is from "http://server.domain.com/path/item1" and edit
it
down to "*.domain.com*, I'll still get images from
"http://server.domain.com/path/item2". Forex 2, with AB+, I can
block
entire specified iframes, which also gets rid of text ads, Opera's BC
does not do this so far as I can tell.
* Flash doesn't seem to be working on at least one page I visit
regularly, even after installing the current version from Adobe and
nothing on that page is being blocked.
* Yesterday, Google Maps didn't show any maps in Opera but today it
does, FF had no problem yesterday.
* Is there an RSS +reader+ Widget? All I can find in a widget search
are feeds. The built-in reader has, imo, a lousy interface.

Hi Jeffery. 'Mark V' here from those other groups. :)
I leave you to the users and volunteer OS staff, but suggest
opera.general
for this post. ".tech" is usually rather hardcore technical
questions requiring developer-level responses. Still, you will
probably get some answers as is. Good luck and hope you can find
Opera entirely usable and satisfactory.

I didn't see that group before, it was cleverly hidden in the middle of
some language-specific groups... :)
