back button does not work in some sites

back button does not work in some sites
Sat, 14 Jul 2007 12:50:36 GMT
There are a few sites that the back button does not work, i.e. does
nothing when used.
I am using version 9.21

one such site is
http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=8615

The back button does work in other IE and Mozilla.

Is this a bug? or is there a fix?

It's a site problem... but I'm not sure how yet.

When I open that link in a new page, the back button is activated...
pointing to the same page. The back button should not be activated for new
pages. That means the page is doing something weird.

This has happened in the past, before the update to 9.21, in fact I
believe before the update previous to that one.
I was not interested enough in those sites to check further. I do not
remember the sites.

Your are right the screen does blink when trying to go back.

Not sure what you mean by "The back button should not be activated for new

pages." For a new page the left pointing green arrow is greyed out.

I am running XP Pro SP2.

A second site that reacts differently

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/home.do

If I get to the circuit city site from another site (i.e. Google for
circuit city) I can backup within the site but cannot backup to the Google
list. If I put the above URL in to get to the site the backup works like
it should, i.e. I can backup to the previous site.
