Resource hog.

Resource hog.

Hi.

With 16 Tabs open I have CPU usage cycling around 70% on Opera alone.
I have recently started to use Operas Mail and News client after having
used Thunderbird for some four years.

Thunderbird were ridden with a memmory leak problem, so I had hoped Opera
would fare better.
However with the high CPU usage the program becomes rather sluggish.

Any solution to this?

Sincerely.

Maybe you can pin it down to any specific tabs that that cause the
problems? Maybe some plugins? Also, the mail client takes quite some CPU
when retrieving messages, but that is only temporary while the messages
are getting in. In Opera 9.5 this will be much improved upon.

I will have to fiddle around with the specific tabs after having read the
content, so I can delete them.
I am not aware of any Opera specific plugins installed. A quick way of
de-terming this? Plugins under specs?

Also, the mail client takes quite some CPU

Yup, I am aware of this.

Thank you.

That should read:

"Also, the mail client takes quite some CPU."
Yup I am aware of this.

I have no idea what 9.50 will bring.
I do follow the desktop team blog though.
But no longer install the previews, no need really, used to do it as a
curiosity.
