javascript file not working on Opera 9

Can anyone tell me if their Opera 9 works with the following tweak.  
Mine doesn't.   :-(

The way this works is that when you are searching Google Images and 
click a thumbnail then the large version of the thumbnail appears.  
(Instead of seeing the whole page the picture came from).

Using 9.50 build 1875 on linux, the first half of the script works, i.e.
the links get changed as you describe). I don't know if it's a bug in
Opera or if the page changed (google's html/js is not easy to read), but
the second half of the script does not work.
