| Never "secure" when clicking https links |

Opera 9.27/8841 Win32
I have noticed a pattern -- I receive perfectly legitimate emails,
using either a local email client or a web system (e.g. Gmail),
containing liks to https URLs.
I verify that the links point to the real site, I click on them,
and invariably the site comes up with a gray "question mark"
the first time -- 100% of the time.
A "refresh" (redisplay), however,
changes this to a "secure" icon, every time -- 100% of the time.
Why does it always take a "refresh" before Opera can recognize
any https link from an email client
(or even from another page being viewed using Opera)
as being secure?
FWIW, I have "referrer logging" disabled.
