Screen Rendition slightly off in Opera

Screen Rendition slightly off in Opera
Tue, 08 Apr 2008 07:08:26 -040
As I am starting to familiarize myself with Opera, I find that some sites
render to the left of my screen. My resolution is set to 1280 x 768. This
does not happen in other browsers I have used before.

Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.

Here's what I'm seeing in all the center column images with 9.27/WXP/SP1:

I should have included the example, but since I designed the page... :)
...and it was only one page in several hundred I looked into the rendering
(after the post, sorry) and realized that it was part of the html code
that was wrong. Once corrected the rendering of the page looks fine, just
like the rest.

I would suggest that is something more common than not because people will
probably design for IE and Firefox that have the largest market share.
That said, I am now an Opera fan and after trying out all the other
players, including Maxthon, I think that Opera definitely offers much more
than the others. Yes, it takes a while to learn the many features, but
once you do that, you're hooked. Opera reminds me of the best
wordprocessor in the world... by far. It is called WordPerfect and nothing
comes close. I like to call it a professional wordprocessor. Opera is a
professional browser.

Maxthon has that auto-hide feature I mentioned earlier... it should be
placed on a wishlist because it is a terrific feature.

Thanks for the help and feedback.

Peter

I didn't check before, but the validator provides a clue:
"Failed validation, 221 Errors." :-)

Rendering is generaly poor with Opera, text on top of pictures etc.
I find this with Norwegian online Newspapers all the time, even with very
popular Norwegian sites like Dinside.no .
Strange since Opera is based right here in Oslo, should think they would
do some testing on local sites, but no..
