Doesn't help you, but I just signed up for an account, as per
http://jpsoft.com/forums.htm#types

I subscribed to the newsgroup jpsoft_support, and downloaded the latest
messages, without any problem.

I'm using 9.50 build 1834, under linux.

The only thing I can think of, is a corrupte .newsrc file in your mail
directory.
$ cat email.sparklist.com.newsrc
jpsoft_beta!
neace!
jpsoft_support: 365143-802426

The cat command is the linux equivalent of the dos type command.

Compare your email.sparklist.com.newsrc file, to the above.

Newsserver / Newsgroup problem
Fri, 07 Mar 2008 20:11:57 +010
Hi, I have a very strange problem with one newsgroup from one
newsserver. Here is the error:

E-Mail und Chat
email.sparklist.com (Temporär)
411 sorry, there is no newsgroup by the name of 'jpsoft_support'

The thing is, that Opera downloads postings but for each posting I get
one of the errors above. And there is definetly a newsgroup with the
name "jpsoft_support" on this server.

Thanks.

Hi, the thing is it once worked without any problems.

Maybe the problem fixed in 9.50.

My content is:

jpsoft_support: 365143-802493
jpsoft_beta!
neace!

So the only difference I see is the order of entries. Could this cause
a problem? I reordered the content but Opera rewrites the file in the
order I listed.

The order would not matter. Try turning on logging, for that account, so
you can see exactly what is being sent, and received, as per
http://www.opera.com/support/search/view/710/

If the log doesn't help pinpoint the cause of the problem, post it
here (trim out the password, if present), or file a bug report, and
the send the log to the email address generated, for the bug report.

Hi, thanks for the tip with logging. It looks like I might have setup
the authentification wrong. I just entered account information for the
NTTP server not the SMTP server. As you can see the articles are than
delivered with the error message "there is no newsgroup..." before
fetching a new article. Any idea?
