What element is this in the message reading window, (pic
included)

I am using Opera for newsgroups. In the reading pane, I get a screen
similar to the message below :

  - http://img329.imageshack.us/my.php?image=operald3.png

What is the area that marked as 1, I know 2 is the message. I want to
get rid of the 1 part. What is it, it is something related to the
posting, poster etc. I don't want that. How do I do it.

I right clicked and selected to show message headers (it was
previously unselected, then it is showing in text form.
Like this :

In the previous version the header display was scrollable (but no
scroll bar, as you can see in the first picture). In the second
version it is appearing as part of the message.

Any idea!

Those are the headers for the message.  They should only be visible if you
have right clicked on the message, and selected "View all Headers and
Message".
It can be turned off, by right clicking, and unselecting it.
The viewing of the headers should also be automatically turned off when
you move to another message.

It looks like message header. RClick on the bar just right to where it  
says "DLL" - there is the option to show/hide headers.
