| WebForms 2.0: background-color on input[type=number] |
 |
Sat, 02 Dec 2006 14:34:24 +010 |
Take a look at my WebForms 2.0 test case:
http://www.omegajunior.net/code/sumbrero/index.webforms.html
There's just one input boxe on the black triangles (the one in the right
top corner) that has its type attribute set to number. The types of the
other input boxes on the black triangles are set to text.
All of the inputs on the black triangles have their background and
forecolor set through CSS. It's set to a black background and a white text
colour, to match the black background of the image behind them.
When changing the input type from text to number, Opera decides to ignore
the style setting for the background, while executing the style setting
for the text colour. This obviously leads to mismatched colours, as can be
seen in my test case: one can't see the number in that box unless it is
selected, or unless the Windows background colour is set to something
contrasting to white.
Anyone else find the same? Is there a way around this, or should this be
considered a bug?
I hope I put this in the correct forum, knowing that Web Forms 2.0 isn't a
standard yet, and that Opera's implementation of it is rather new.

I'm afraid this testcase is too complex for me :) You might well be right,
but there is no obvious way to tell with such a page. I prefer my
testcases simple:
http://tc.labs.opera.com/html/forms/input/number/006.htm
BTW, make sure to use the most recent 9.10 build.

If Opera doesn't conform to the draft spec, feel free to report a bug. We
do intend to follow this spec.

OK, will create a simpler case, and will update to the latest weekly build.

Done. Simple test case for just this behaviour:
http://www.omegajunior.net/code/webforms/csscolors.html

At home I now use the most recent weekly for Windows. Behaviour seems the
same as with 9.02 build 8585 for Windows.
(Can't update to the most recent build at work unless it's an official
release. My e-mail depends on Opera.)

OK, thanks. No change in build 8666 indeed. I've now filed a bug report on
this issue.
