I have found the source of my problems. Delete and Empty Trash buttons
didn't work because I had Proxomitron enabled. After disabling it (from
F12 menu) both buttons work just fine. This is actually quite unusual as I
have Proxo enabled all the time and only have to disable it occasionally
to access a few secure websites.
