This nifty program searches your system for drivers and saves them to a folder
you can then save.
In 64-bit systems, quite a few x86 drivers work in lieu of unavailable x64
drivers.
This utility has saved me several times.

Very nifty, John. If I had seen this a day before you posted, I could have saved
myself a few hours.
This weekend is going to involve those 64-bit boxes, BTW.

I really don't envy you.
Driver issues might be one of the greatest roadblocks to 64-bit adoption on
Vista, which, looking back, was the same problem with XP x64.
For goodness sakes, didn't these device vendors know about the beta process?

In my very frustrating experience, it's been an ongoing barrier. When we're
talking about things like a NIC, it just defies belief. (The market and I have a
little list of vendors that want to go out of business and deserve to have their
wishes come true.)
Sad fact is that I have some very expensive applications that sing and beg for
the platform. I just want to benchmark programs for a few smaller shops--the
ones that listen to their customers.
And you know, Microsoft provides resources like mad, so I put no fault there.

When I read your remark about NICs, it was like you were channeling me!
What I do not is to make saure that I DO have all the NIC drivers before any
install.
