John and I (both of us have recently deceased mobiles - or cells to you guy's)
were talking about this briefly on msn before, what do you guys think of windows
mobile 6 as both a smart device and when used as a regular phone? What about the
competition (symbian etc) ?

Well I can only speak for WM5, but surely 6 improves it in every concievable
way.

Came from a Symbian and the learning curve was huge, especially as Vodafone UK
would not support me in anyway, but having learnt about my phone (even after
considering being scared and sending it back) I am most happy with it!

I've been doing a bit of looking around while I was bored (mostly putting off
doing an assignment) and a big issue with the windows media devices is that they
all seem to look truely aweful (physically) which I know sounds stupid but I
dunno aethestics are import to me somewhat.

Also, when i've previously used windows mobile text messaging on it was somewhat
awkward, is it a bit better now? Most of my messaging I do while walking or
standing around so it needs to be easy to use.

I dunno the symbian device looks better, costs less (ebay AU$550 so about
US$460) am I missing something? (all of these phones are quite expensive
really...)

IE7 CRASHED WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS INITIALLY :(

I meant to ask, what phone do you have? Vodafone I had a mate who had one of
their pre-paid mobiles and the branding on it was horrid. I use virgin mobile
here in aus they basically onsell the optus network at a cheaper rate (2g and 3g
)

I'm not sure if I'm gonna be shot because of this but most of the improvements I
see in WM6 are all in the backend (integration with Exchange, etc.).

WM6 is cool, check out HTC Touch, or maybe Switch (Vista/WM vis-a-vis)
