| Where is "Choose a file to import?" |

This is the truth - Trying to import a .csv address file from Outlook
Express on an older computer (Windows 98 SE) to a newer computer (XP SP2),
via File\Import\Other Address Book\Text File (Comma Separated Values), then
click on "Import" and no "Choose a File to Import" dialog
and prompt comes
up (but it should). I know this doesn't make sense. Has anyone else
experienced this?
I'm 99.9 % positive the window didn't disappear behind the other window.
Thanks.

Try the import via Address Book File | Import | Other Address Book, not OE.
Is MS Outlook also installed on the WinXP machine?
Are both machines fully patched at Windows Update?

Is Outlook 98/2000+ installed on the same PC? If so, and OE is set to
share the Outlook contacts, you can't import or export the address book
in OE since it isn't using an address book but getting the contacts from
Outlook.

- MS Outlook is also installed in the WinXP machine (but it's also installed
on MY own XP Pro computer, and I have no problem getting the second "Choose
a File to Import" dialog).
- Both machines are fully patched - the new XP Pro machine AND the Windows
98SE - they really are.
- Besides the aforementioned "File\Import\Other Address Book\Text File
(Comma Separated Values)" route, I did also try the
"Addresses\File\Import\Other Address Book\Text File (Comma Separated
Values)" and still no second "Choose a File to Import" dialog.
- Of course the csv file IS on the new computer (but I guess you had to ask)
and is NOT marked Read Only.
Seriously - this is all true. Where did the second dialog go (why is it not
displaying)?
Thanks again.
